ABOUT
Established in 2018 by local Eliza Bunner, the Baradine Scrubbers Ball was held to raise much needed funds as one of the worst droughts in Australian history took a hold and was strangling the town. The inaugural event did just that, injecting life into our local businesses and lifting spirits burdened by the weight of the drought. The event which was held at the picturesque heritage memorial hall quickly became more than just a fundraiser. It became a celebration of resilience and a chance for neighbours to reconnect amidst the chaos of farm life.
In 2022, our focus shifted to another pressing issue: mental health. With the tragic loss of Matthew Dewson, we dedicated ourselves to supporting organisations like Gotcha4Life and the Kindness Factory, striving to create a more compassionate and understanding community.
As we gear up for the 2024 edition, our commitment to mental health remains. With the support of Find Ya Feet, founded by the most authentic fella Tommy Herschell, we aim to foster genuine connections and open dialogue about mental wellness. In a region where the statistics paint a sobering picture, our mission to break the stigma surrounding mental health grows ever more urgent.
Join us on September 7th, 2024, at the Baradine Memorial Hall for a night of laughter, music, and generosity. Together, we'll make a tangible difference in the lives of our community members and pave the way for a brighter, more connected future. See you on the dance floor!
